Ways to Pimp my 54·40:Radio -The first way and probably the easiest way is to email or call your local rock radio station and tell them you want to hear some 54·40. It works. When Yes to Everything came out I emailed my radio station here in Kingston about 10 times per day. I showed excitement towards 54·40 and kissed the DJs asses as well. Make sure you butter them up and tell them they are the BEST radio station you have ever listened to! They gobble that stuff up! Here is a list of radio stations to bombard with emails and calls: BC:
Television -This will be one of the hardest, but most rewarding ways to Pimp My 54·40. If anyone can remember back a few years ago the band GREAT BIG SEA had a special on CBC which featured a concert from The Civic Centre in Ottawa. They got a lot of exposure all across Canada and is repeated frequently. How did Great Big Sea score this event on TV? How are they different from 54·40? You're guess is as good as mine, but I do know that we can try our hardest to make that happen for 54·40. Take the time to send a note to the good people of CBC and let them know that you would love to see that type of show happen again, but to feature one of Canada's leading rock bands 54·40. 54·40 has also created a boat load of music videos. Much More Music is now our only source to see the videos. 54·40 has released 2 videos recently and they are getting little playing time on TV. Hop on their website and request to see them! Golden Sun is 54·40s most recent release and it available to be seen during Much More Musics top 10. Get ready for “Pimp My 54·40”, This is our way to get the word out about 54·40. Advertise, promote or plain old pimp them out!October 9th, 2005 -- Kingston, Ontario Canada -- After seeing 54-40 in concert on Friday October 7th in Belleville, I have come to realize a few things. First of all, 54·40 kicks ass and their is no denying it. Secondly, something needs to be done to promote this band more. The audience seemed to be made up of mainly older people who won radio contests. Most people I talk to are unsure who this band is and what they have accomplished in the last 25+ years. I plan on taking the first step on getting the word out on 54·40 from a fans perspective. Get ready! We have a lot of work to do! Canada's Walk of Fame The Canada's Walk of Fame is a a glittering event, consisting of dinner, the awards show, and the after-party. All in all, it's a spectacular evening of entertainment. It's the best of the best — Canadian-style. Canada's Walk of Fame has featured many Canadian music inductees over its short history including Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette , Neil Young and The Tragically Hip. So, my question is "Why not 54·40?" 54·40 has accomplished so much in their time as a band and they deserve this recognition just as much as these artists. It doesn't matter what your site looks like, if it is an extension of who you are and what you like it is perfect! Searching the internet I have seen very few sites about 54·40. Pimp Yourself! Walk, talk & eat 54·40! I usually don't leave the house without something 54·40. It may sound kind of creepy, but it is subtle enough that people don't think you are a mental case. T-shirts, hats, buttons, stickers, their are so many different ways you can show your 54·40 pride. Put a 54·40 sticker on your car! I have a small 54·40 sticker located on the back window of my car. Share your love of the band with other people! Someone asks you what type of music you like, don't just tell them rock music! Tell them you like 54·40 rock music. Let them know of some of 54·40 popular hits. Recommend a CD they should go out and purchase.
